Before a sound reaches conscious perception, our hearing is already processing the finest timing cues.

This was Josef W. Manger’s starting point.

It led to the Manger Sound Transducer.

The innovative principle

This is why the Manger Sound Transducer was conceived differently. It is designed to follow a sound event as directly as possible – from its very beginning through the finest changes until it fades away.

To achieve this, Josef W. Manger developed a fundamentally different principle of sound transduction. Its flexible diaphragm does not move back and forth like a rigid piston. Instead, bending waves spread outward from the centre across the diaphragm. High frequencies involve smaller areas, while lower frequencies progressively engage larger areas of the same diaphragm.

This allows a single diaphragm to reproduce an
exceptionally wide frequency range –
coherently and without transitions
between separate drivers.

The aim is not to create a sound of its own.
Voices, instruments and space should appear
natural and stable, while the transducer
itself recedes from awareness.

Why time coherence is audible

Our promise

An exceptional principle demands exceptional care in its execution. That is why the Manger Sound Transducer is handcrafted in small batches at our workshop in Mellrichstadt – with experience, precision and meticulous attention to detail.

Production takes place in batches of ten. Each finished transducer is then individually tested and measured. Only when it meets our tight production tolerance of less than ±0.5 dB does it receive its individual serial number.

This makes every Manger Sound Transducer an individually verified precision product – built to perform reliably for many years. And always with the same purpose: to serve the music.
